Full-Time | Starting at $110,000+ (commensurate with experience)
Experience: Three+ years of progressively complex litigation defense experience
Collins Einhorn Farrell PC (CEF) seeks a highly skilled Civil Litigation Attorney with 3 – 5 years of experience, to handle complex liability matters. Our practice spans multiple areas including general liability, insurance coverage and professional liability. Our cases range from high-exposure matters to more specialized and nuanced litigation, all of which require strong legal acumen, problem solving abilities and strategic thinking.
About the Role
Our litigation attorneys are intellectually flexible, able to react to a litigation landscape that can change rapidly. The desired skills include:
You will work closely with a collaborative team of experienced attorneys and practice in both state and federal courts. You will also be provided the ability to participate in business development training and legal development, while enjoying a flexible work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyze legal issues within your assigned practice area
- Draft motions, briefs, and other legal submissions
- Participate in depositions, mediations, and case strategy development
- Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and client service
- Prepare for and participate in court appearances, hearings, and trial (as applicable)
- Contribute to the firm’s thought leadership through writing and presentations
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in Michigan (or eligible for admission)
- 3+ years of experience
- Strong legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills
- Effective oral advocacy and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a dynamic environment
- Intellectual curiosity and strong problem-solving skills
- Prior litigation experience in state or federal courts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience representing insurers, corporations, or professionals
- Deposition and mediation experience
- Trial experience or interest in developing trial skills
