Company Overview
We are proud to be one of the largest and most progressive radiology groups in the nation. Our growing practice includes 214 radiologists, 38 advanced practice providers, and 180 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.
We provide 24/7 coverage for more than 60 sites across the state of Michigan. This includes 20 hospitals, two of the busiest level one trauma centers in the state, and 3 nationally accredited breast centers. Our interventional radiologists perform over 40,000 procedures annually. We are committed to remaining privately held/physician owned.
Company History
1997 – ARS was formed when the two independent radiology practices servicing Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals merged.
1997- ARS physicians continued to take responsibility for the education of medical students and residents for the established ACGME certified residency program that had been in place since the 80’s.
2003 – Kalamazoo Radiology, P.C, one of the oldest radiology practices in the US joins and ARS begins providing services to Bronson Healthcare. Their legacy of service in the Southwest Michigan area dates back to 1897.
2005 – ARS merges with Grand Valley Radiology to provide services to Holland Hospital.
2008 – Ingham Radiology Associates in Lansing joins and ARS begins servicing McLaren Greater Lansing, Sparrow Eaton Hospital, and Eaton Rapids Medical Center.
2009– ARS physicians play a lead role in developing the radiology program for the newly opened Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids.
2011- ARS completes its first implementation of its distributed radiology IT platform.
2014 –ARS physicians serve as Co-Chair of the WMU Department of Radiology for the newly opened WMU Homer Stryker School of Medicine.
2015 – ARS expands to service Bronson Battle Creek.
2016 – ARS expands to service Spectrum Ludington.
2017 – ARS expands to service Spectrum Big Rapids.
2018 – ARS expands to service Allegan Community Hospital, Spectrum Pennock Hospital and Health Pointe in Grand Haven. Radiology Associates of Berrien County joins ARS to service Lakeland Health in Niles, St. Joseph and Watervliet.
2019 – ARS forms joint venture with Michigan State University – Spartan Radiology, Inc. to provide services to McLaren Greater Lansing beginning 1/1/20.
2019 ARS partners with Michigan State University and Spectrum Health to establish a six year integrated interventional radiology residency program. ARS physicians serve as Program Director and Assistant Program Director.
2020 – Spartan Radiology expands to provide services to McLaren Bay Region. ARS expands to service Memorial Healthcare in Owosso.
2021- ARS expands to provide services to Ascension Macomb Oakland in Warren and Madison Heights. The physicians of Diagnostic Radiology Consultants join ARS.
2021 The new integrated interventional radiology residency program was approved by the ACGME in January and matched the first class of residents in March.
2021 Spectrum Health goes live on our distributed radiology platform expanding subspecialty coverage and service to Grand Rapids and the West Michigan region.
2022 ARS expands to service Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw and MyMichigan West Branch. The providers and office staff of Advanced Diagnostic Imaging join ARS/STARS with 3 former ADI physicians joining the ARS Board of Directors.
Benefits
We fully fund our physician 401k plans. We also have a cash balance plan. They pay nothing for single or family medical/dental/vision coverage. Our physicians have 13 weeks vacation and opportunity to pick up additional shifts to increase compensation if desired.
